Happy December, friends! The holiday season is fast approaching, and it’s one of my favourite times of the year! I couldn’t resist using the beautiful Christmas Tree in my home for the backdrop of this month’s photos. I’ll be sharing my holiday adventures (and hopefully cheer) in my stories over on Instagram, so make sure you stop by and check them out. If you’re looking for a personalized, in-depth reading I do have plenty of options available on my Tarot Readings page – and as we started last month (I think?) 25% of all proceeds will be donated to charity. If you’d like to donate without purchasing a reading, you can do so here. Currently, we’re donating to the David Suzuki Foundation. For this month’s reading, we have three pairs of cards from the Lost Hollow Tarot deck by PixelOccult. I got the pocket edition, because I love having a purse-sized deck that is beautiful, and easy to carry around! Take a look at the three pairs of cards below, and choose the one that calls to you. Scroll down to receive your message for the month! Pair One starts at the top, Two is to the left, and Three is to the right. As always, I’d love to know if the message resonated, so feel free to leave a comment below or through a message.
Pair One (Top) – Temperance & Five of Cups
It can be difficult to say no. But this month it’s important to remember your boundaries, set limitations, and to stick to them. Don’t allow others to guilt you into acting against your better judgment. Practice moderation. Know when you’ve reached your limit, and understand that it is okay to stop. Put your foot down, and say no to things that you don’t want to do. Take care of yourself first. It’s important to make your own self-care a priority. The Five of Cups represents disappointment, and feelings of loss. It’s natural to reflect on what has happened, and where we’ve come from. This year had a lot of downs for many people, however, focusing too much on what we have lost will hold us back from seeing all the good that we have in our lives. Take time to release those negative feelings of disappointment and regret. While it’s healthy to experience and express them, harping on them will only bring you down. Practice gratitude, and open your eyes to the positive experiences that you had this year. When we look at these two cards together, we are asked to balance our feelings. Let the emotions flow through you, but do not allow them to take over to the point where you are no longer in control. Remember, no one is happy and positive all the time, but when you’re feeling negative, only you can change your perception. Don’t continue to punish yourself for mistakes that you’ve made. Enjoy this month, but remember that moderation is key. Pair Two (Left) – Six of Swords & Four of Pentacles![]() As you reflect on the year, don’t dwell on the failures. Instead, take each one as learning experience. While the outcome may not have been what you desired, what did you learn? What good came from it? And how can you improve next time? By turning these negative memories into positive actions going forward, we can lighten the burden we carry. Remember, even failure is a form of success because we’ve learned what actions not to repeat. Sometimes, that’s half the battle. The Six of Swords offers a great opportunity to gain mental clarity. To free yourself from your own thoughts, so that you can move forward towards greater success. The Four of pentacles comes when we’ve reached a certain level of stability and success. Once you have that feeling of stability, it can be hard to let go. So instead, we tighten our grip, and become more focused on control. While it’s important to keep an eye on what you’ve earned, know that a little generosity can go along way. This card at a perfect time with the holidays fast approaching. Are you too focused on material wealth and gains? We all like to have nice things, but is it necessary to have things to excess? Consider more fruitful ways to spend your money, like experiences with those you love. With the Six of Swords and Four of Pentacles we’re reminded that holding on too tightly can impede our growth. Don’t be holding on to mistakes (or even past successes) so tightly that you can’t see the road ahead – there is still a long journey with challenges to face. At the same time, remember that excessive control or being too stingy with your resources can come back to bite you. Learn from your past, and practice balance between saving and spending. Pair Three (Right) – Ten of Pentacles & the Devil![]() You’ve been able to accomplish your goals, and if you’re not quite there yet, know that if you keep up the hard work, they will soon come to fruition. Practice gratitude for all that you have, because even though you’ve worked hard and come this far, nothing lasts forever. It’s important this month to live in the present. Be in the now, and enjoy things as they are. The Devil asks us to examine our self-limiting beliefs. Where are we holding ourselves back, and keeping ourselves confined? Realize that the only one who can free you is you. The limitations that you feel are there because you believe they are valid. It’s okay to be you. Work on harnessing your personal power. Allow yourself to experience joy and feel pleasure, but have the willpower to stay away from obsessive or addictive behaviours. It’s important to know when enough is enough. If you’re not quite feeling that Ten of Pentacles energy, and we take the Devil into consideration, it’s important to examine your definitions of happiness, success, and abundance. Look inside, and really figure out what these mean to you. Know that your definition does not have to match that of society. At the same time, if you are experiencing this wonderful abundance, the Devil encourages you to enjoy it. You’ve worked hard, you’ve earned it, and there’s nothing wrong with enjoying the fruits of your labor. Just remember, to not get so hung up on the material world that you forget to nourish the other areas of your life. |
Perfect for me… food for thought.
